Tomopteris helgolandica

Small (2-60 mm long) transparent, pelagic worms sometimes encountered in plankton trawls around the UK. They are vigorous swimmers and may undergo diurnal vertical migrations, rising to the surface at night. Tomopterids are voracious predators of other planktonic organism.
